JUNIOR CHOIR: Ages 7 - 18

The Junior Choir enjoys singing in traditional and contemporary Christian styles in both unison and part singing. Choristers are expected to attend all Thursday rehearsals and Sunday morning services. The Junior Choir enjoys workshops, recitals, concerts and especially choir camp. The choir spends one weekend in September at the Ganaraska Centre learning the Anthems for the year. They also enjoy spending time playing in the forest.

Rehearsals are Thursdays 6:15 - 7:30 pm.

VOICE FOR LIFE

This is a singing program offered through the Church of England. Each chorister in the Junior and Teen choirs has the option to participate and may work at his/her own pace through a graded curriculum offered through the Royal School of Church Music. Choristers start with the first four levels: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red and Yellow before moving on to the more difficult levels Bronze, Silver and Gold. These last 3 levels involve testing by an International Judge. All choristers are awarded medallions and ribbons, which they wear with their choir gowns, once they have completed their books. This curriculum, which is called ‘Voice for Life’, is designed to help singers discover their voices and give them direction toward becoming a singer within the context of the Anglican Church. Interested persons should contact Audrey Mead, Choir Director, through the church office at (905) 372-3442.

THE ROGER BROWN SCHOLARSHIP

Each year outstanding choristers are awarded this scholarship in memory of Roger Brown, a member of the choirs at St. Peter's for fifty years. Monetary awards are directed toward lessons or further musical endeavours. Requirements for the scholarship can be obtained from Audrey Mead or the Scholarship Committee through the church office at 905-372-3442.
