Inspiring purpose and passion in your life is Kier Barker’s message. Facing significant physical challenges did not prevent Kier from becoming a successful inspiration speaker who encourages all of us to live life to the fullest and to be the person you are created to be. Kier will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the St. Peter’s Men’s Club on February 16, 2012 beginning at 6:00 pm. All men of the Parish are invited and encouraged to attend and hear Kier’s life story and his stimulating message.
The Circle of Hope, which does not meet weekly, is open to anyone who is living with a diagnosis of cancer. It is important to know that you are not alone.
Our meeting day and time has changed to Friday afternoons, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Hutton Room.
Please join us and if you would like more information, please call Karen Li, Parish Nurse or the Church Office, 905 372-3442.
This group meets on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm in the chapel. A typical evening involves listening to a recorded talk from the World Community of Christian Meditators followed by 30 minutes of silent meditation.
The meditation is introduced with prayer and music. It ends with music and a reading, usually biblical.

Christian meditation has all the benefits of regular meditation with the added benefit of our focus on the centre of our being – Christ. It was brought back into the Christian prayer tradition by a Benedictine monk, Father John Main. Following his death, Father Laurence Freeman has led the community. It is world wide.

For all who find Family Day weekend without relatives around a bit lonely, we’re having a pot luck supper on Sunday, February 19th, 2012 starting at 5:30. We’ll make it a real pot luck…it might be all desserts! Or all chilli! But we’ll have fun. So, save the date and start going through recipes to see what you might cook up.
Register with the church office (905 372 3442) to say you are coming. And, if making a “pot” is hard for you to do, please bring in a small donation to cover the drinks and a few of the extras. If you need a ride, please ask that one be arranged for you when you register and we’ll do our best to get you to the church and home again safely. If you have questions or ideas, call Suzanne Lawson at 905-373-1697
We too have a family to celebrate at St. Peter’s and this party will make what can be a very long weekend much more enjoyable.

“Come to the Banquet!” No, this isn’t an announcement for another St Peter’s dinner. It is the theme for the 2012 Trent – Durham Area Day of Celebration on Saturday, March 3. It is taking place right here at St. Peter’s Church, Cobourg. This is a wonderful opportunity for parishioners of St Peters to join others across our Trent - Durham church family in a day of food, fellowship, learning and fun (with little or no commute required). Workshops provide food for the body, mind and spirit such as: The Holy Spirit as Wisdom, Diet and Conscience, Aromatherapy and Essential Oils of Scripture, the Prayer of Lexia Divina and much, much more. Children (4 – 9) and Youth (10 – 17) have their own special programs to attend, running concurrently with the others..
Cost for the day is $15.00 per adult, $9.00 per youth/child. Registration for a group of 10 or more is $10.00 per individual. Cost includes lunch and snacks.
For more information, visit the church office and ask for the Area Day brochure. It includes all workshop information and registration forms. Deadline for advanced registration is Friday, February 17, 2012. Hope to see you there!
