When Fr. Matt arrived in December of 2022, his first priority as our new priest was to help complete the restoration of our historic church, and then re-open & re-launch our ministry here at St. Peter’s. All of this has gone off with resounding success.

As we focused on that important work, we set aside plans for our bishop to visit and formally install Fr. Matt as our Rector and Head Pastor.

Now that we have concluded our work with the Board of Management and have plans to retire the main restoration debt, we at long last welcomed Bishop Riscylla on April 11, 2026 to celebrate Fr. Matt’s formal installation as our Rector and Incumbent of St. Peter’s.

For this special service we were delighted to welcome back as our guest preacher, the Rev. Canon Claire Wade.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, St. Peter’s welcomed Rt. Rev. Riscylla Shaw for a service of induction for Fr. Matt. It was a meaningful and well-attended service, marking an important moment in the life of our parish as we formally affirmed Fr. Matt’s ministry following the completion of our restoration efforts. We are grateful to Canon Claire Wade for joining us and to everyone who came out to be part of the occasion.

A cheque was presented to the Bishop during the induction service, marking the full repayment of the diocesan loan.
