Baptism

Through baptism a person is made a child of God, becomes a member of Christ’s Body, and is cleansed and reborn in the Spirit.  At St. Peter’s both adults and children are baptized, in the belief that God’s love extends to everyone, regardless of their age.  Adult candidates and the parents or guardians of child candidates for baptism must participate in a series of meetings with a member of the Clergy to prepare for this life-changing sacrament. Usually the whole community of St. Peter’s witnesses the baptism and also makes promises to support the child or adult as they join the family of Christ.
