Lay readers contribute to the service by reading the lesson and the epistle at both services on Sunday morning. These two teams of volunteers are assigned dates on which to read, four months in advance. During the week in which they read they will receive a call from the office to remind them to pick up the reading. If they are unable to read on the date assigned they may either find a substitute from their team or notify the coordinator.
If you are interested in becoming a lay reader at either the 8:30 or 10:30 a.m. service please contact John Winkworth at 905-372-7947 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Intercessors are lay members of St. Peter’s who present the Prayers of the People at Sunday services. They usually prepare the intersessions themselves thereby providing a variety of styles although, overall guidance is provided in regular training sessions conducted by the clergy.
